We’re almost done!

The end of this school year is quickly approaching! Parents, you should have received an email last night about this week. We have our Dress Rehearsal tomorrow, Tuesday, May 6th, after school until 5:30 pm. Please plan to pick up your child at 5:30. Our Spring Concert is next Monday, May 12 at 7:00 pm. You won’t want to miss this fun, end-of-the year program! Students should report at 6:15 pm. Uniform is red chorus shirts and nice blue jeans (no holes, rips, or tears!) with tennis shoes or other closed-toe shoes. Please remember to send in a written note if your child is unable to participate in either the rehearsal or concert.

The 6th graders had a fun day at Six Flags on Saturday!! A huge thank-you to our chaperones!! Here are of few of the students as we gathered to head home at the end of the day…

The 7th Grade Chorus heads to Tennessee this weekend for a performance in Knoxville and fun at Dollywood!! A big Thank-You in advance for the chaperones who will be joining us this Friday and Saturday!! We appreciate you!! (Picture promised after our trip! 🙂 )

And, since I haven’t reported in awhile I don’t want to leave out our 8th graders . . . We had a fabulous trip to Walt Disney World in March and appreciated the teacher and parent chaperones who joined us!! The students gave an awesome 25 minute performance as part of the Performing Arts OnStage program in Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival. So proud of this 8th grade group!! I will certainly miss them next year!! Here’s a backstage photo after our performance…

It has been an amazing year with so many wonderful performances and accomplishments and I am profoundly grateful for all of the support, encouraging words and notes from our parents!!

Talent Show Info!

Are you interested in trying out for the Talent Show? Auditions are Tuesday, November 5 – Thursday, November 7, from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. The audition form is linked below. Please have each member of your group, along with all of the parents, sign your form and return it to either Mrs. Fallis or Mrs. Hoebeke to schedule your audition time. Good luck!

Sixth Grade Honor Chorus

Thanks to all the 6th graders who were invited to audition for the 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus for coming in early this morning to sing. Everyone sang well, but only three singers plus three alternates could be chosen. Congratulations to Bella B., Isabella C. and Chloe L. – our three representatives and Victoria A., Abigale B. and Caroline F. – our three alternates!

Fundraiser!

Just a quick update to let everyone know you have until Monday, Oct. 21st to get your orders in!  Please try to get a few more orders this weekend and help us reach our goal!!  Don’t forget to invite friends and family to order online – it’s a great way to take care of some early holiday shopping!!  Thanks to everyone for supporting HMS Chorus in this endeavor!!

Singing at Cambridge Game Cancelled

Hello Parents and Students,
Due to some miscommunication with Cambridge HS, we will NOT be singing at the football game next Friday night. This event has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled for this year. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused your family.

Off to a great start!

We have had a great couple of weeks as we’ve begun the new school year!  Students are settling into rehearsal routines and working hard on sight-reading skills.  As we’ve said in class, this will be our Best. Year. Ever. 

Parents, we will have a Performing Arts Parent Meeting this Tuesday, August 27 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the Cafeteria.  This is an important informational meeting and I urge you to join us!
